Buy a piece of ECOT: Barbie dolls, Billy Bass and bone fragments -- the troubled charter school's up for auction

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Now’s your time to buy a piece of the trouble-ridden charter school, the Electronic Classroom of Tomorrow.

ECOT closed this year after the state determined the online school received $80 million more taxpayer dollars than it should have. The school is fighting paying the money back in the Ohio Supreme Court.

The school’s office building, furnishings, equipment and tools are now being auctioned off, according to Gryphon Auction Group. The sale runs through June 12. You can purchase a memento of the now infamous Ohio school at Or you could buy the entire ECOT office space at

Much of what ECOT is auctioning off makes sense: school supplies like crayons, pencils, binders and school books. The inventory also includes desks, chairs and other office essentials. And then there are some unusual items, including a foosball table, Barbie dolls and even bone fragments.

Scroll through to see photos of the ECOT building as it was when the school occupied the space. You can also see a selection of the items the school is auctioning off.
